Coplan Donohue Single Parent Scholarship

MSU alumna, Diane Coplan Donohue, remembers the daily challenges of being a single parent while attending the University as a full-time student. Because of the tremendous support that she received from her professors and the quality of care that her daughter Heather received from the Children's House, Diane and her husband Michael Donohue, established a scholarship endowment in April of 1990.
Diane first attended MSU from 1970 to 1973 and was active in theater and music. She returned to campus in 1977 as a non-traditional student and graduated in 1979 with a degree in Elementary Education. Since her graduation, Diane's diverse professional career has included working in marketing and sales, gerontology, administration and research. Her compassion and belief in giving back to the community has led to her involvement in numerous volunteer opportunities. She has tutored English and History to immigrants from the former Soviet Union, has been a hospice volunteer, worked with isolated elders, was a co-founder of The Central Minnesota Aids Project and has served on many non-profit boards.
Diane and Mike hope that their gift will help and inspire other single parents to reach their life-long goals and dreams.
